Coun. Logtenberg touched base on bike lanes, the airport and municipal climate policy
Coun. Rik Logtenberg stopped by Kootenay Morning on Aug. 21 to chat about the municipal climate change caucus (an organization he founded) and fill KCR in on the latest in council chambers.
Logtenberg told KCR he understands recent land-use complaints about the Nelson Airport, but understands why it’s there.
He also weighed in on the ongoing bike lane controversy at the City, a project he championed.
“The key thing is that our active transportation plan was contingent on getting a grant,” Logtenberg told KCR.
“That grant was not a sure thing. And when you put forward an application that’s based on a split vote, and against the staff recommendation, then that’s a recipe for failure.”
