The Kootenay Chamber Players
November 6 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
$20

The Selkirk Pro-Musica Concert Series continues its season with The Kootenay Chamber Players, featuring Natasha Hall, violin; Spring Burke, violin; Martine denBok, viola; Jeff Faragher, cello; and Rob Fahie, bass.
Prepare for an evening of rich harmonies and folk-inspired elegance featuring two of Antonín Dvořák’s most beloved chamber works. This quintet of Kootenay string players bring depth and artistry to this dynamic program. Dvořák’s String Quartet in F major, Op. 96 (“American”) brims with infectious spirit and sun-soaked melodies, composed during his time in the United States. His Quintet in G major, Op. 77, with its unusual addition of double bass, adds warmth and resonance to a joyful, nature-infused soundscape. This compelling program showcases the composer’s deep lyricism and folk roots, offering audiences a glowing portrait of Romantic chamber music at its finest.
Unfortunately Anne Armstrong will not be able to join the quintet for the performance because of an injury – we wish her a swift recovery and look forward to welcoming her on stage in the near future.
Tickets are $20 (cash) available at Otter Books and at the door.
The Selkirk Pro-Musica Concert Series is supported by The Columbia Basin Trust’s Resident Directed grant program, the Nelson & District Credit Union, Nelson IODE, and Save-On Foods.
