KCR News, the Kootenay Morning crew and The Ecocentric are stoked to welcome new reporter Scott Onyschak.

Like predecessors John Rune and Keili Bartlett, Scott comes to the station thanks to the Local Journalism Initiative.

Raised just down the road in Trail, Scott followed up a degree in history from Simon Fraser University with a diploma in radio arts and entertainment from BCIT.

Over the last two years, he’s worked as a blogger for the Nation Network, covering the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays, and the BC Hockey League.

Scott will be covering local news, culture, current affairs, sports and adventure for the next 11 months.
