Kootenay Co-op Radio’s 2018 Fundraising Drive is ON! That’s right folks, it’s that time of year when we come to you asking for money.

As a volunteer-powered co-op, we don’t need a whole lot, but with a small, part-time staff, a mortgage, and bills to pay, we run on an annual budget of just over $100,000. When you consider that we deliver over 80 hours of original programming each week, including, an eclectic range of music shows, as well as news and cultural commentary programs, it’s shockingly small.

To hit this target, we rely on a mix of sponsorships, grants, and member fees. This year we are looking to raise $25,000 from generous donors who believe in the importance of independent, locally run media in the Kootenays.

All throughout the month of June, we will make the case for why you should invest in Kootenay Co-op Radio. Support for KCR could mean signing up for a monthly donation of as little as $5.50 per month. Or perhaps you want to make an annual donation of just $60. Or maybe $10 is all you can afford, or a whole lot more. Really, anything helps.
