Nelson’s Dryden Hunt has come a long ways since he led Nelson’s Pee Wee squad to a provincial championship. Hunt, 24, inked a one-year contract with the Arizona Coyotes in the NHL yesterday. He joined Kootenay Morning on Oct. 14 to chat about what it will mean to make the move from Florida, where he played for the Panthers, and what local fans can expect to see next season.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” Hunt told KCR. “I’m super appreciative of Florida and the opportunity they gave me to play in my first NHL Game and live out my childhood dream. But I couldn’t be more excited for a new opportunity and a new adventure and a fresh start in Arizona.”
Hunt spoke to KCR from Calgary.
