Marty Horswill can be remembered for many things. The born-and-raised Nelsonite was known to many for founding a municipal political party, helping start community charitable organizations and his love of music.
Horswill passed away on November 9, 2020 at 76 years old. Former colleague and long-time friend Donna MacDonald shared her memories of Marty, and the impact he’s had on the community he loved.
Music for this piece was provided by the Horswill family. The recording was made in 1957, of a 13-year-old soprano, Marty Horswill singing “If I can help somebody.” He was accompanied by Amy Ferguson.
