Nelson city council’s by-election is decided, with Nicole Charlwood having on the councillor’s seat.
In the lead up to Saturday’s election, the three candidates answered all sorts of questions from a variety of sectors — including the battered Arts and Culture scene.
The Nelson and District Arts Council, and Executive Directors from the city’s prime time cultural venues put forth a list of questions to the trio a few weeks ago.
That was just one of the going concerns amongst the city’s arts and culture sector.
Artwork buzz is beginning, there are more murals in the works, and one particularly heartwarming award to chat about too.
Nelson and District Arts Council boss Sydney Black joined Kootenay Morning to talk about major issues facing her sector, the value of election campaign satire, Artwalk’s intriguing approach to its upcoming season, and the pledge for more murals throughout Nelson’s streetscape.
