It was a season unlike any other. And it’s one that some folks didn’t think would even happen.
Despite Whistler-Blackcomb, Revelstoke Mountain Resort and Big White making the decision to pull the plug early, our little ski hill up the road Whitewater managed to stay open.
The resort implemented a number of protocols to manage the COVID situation.
Unlike other resorts Whitewater capped its season passes to avoid having guests make reservations in order to access the resort.
Whitewater GM Kirk Jensen stopped by Kootenay Morning on April 5 to chat about the season. Closing day was Sunday, April 4.
Jensen said the resort was down 75% in day ticket revenue over the course of the season.
