He was force and a character in the North American publishing world, but aside from those in Nelson’s albeit substantial literary circles, few knew it. Instead, literary agent Morty Mint was known to a lot of locals as a hometown supporter of writers and titles like the Hockey Day in Canada coffee table book, local cultural efforts and Nelson Minor Hockey. January 25, Morty passed away with his family by his side. Nelson writer Anne DeGrace and editor Verna Relkoff knew this literary legend well.
