Member-owned and operated, Kootenay Co-op Radio has been serving West Kootenay communities since 1999. The station has become a treasured and beloved part of everyday life for our listeners and represents the unique spirit of our eclectic region.
With over 80 hours of original programming created by our passionate team of volunteer hosts each week, KCR is the destination for thousands of local listeners looking for an authentic Kootenay experience.

With transmitters in Nelson (93.5 FM), Crawford Bay (96.5 FM), New Denver (107.5 FM), and the Slocan Valley (101.5 FM) KCR reaches a potential audience of over 20,000 people.
According to a 2017 survey by the National Campus and Community Radio Association, listeners to community radio are more likely to be college and/or university educated and have annual household incomes of more than $50,000. In fact, the higher their income, the more likely they are to tune into community radio stations like KCR.
