2020 has been a wild ride for businesses and industries of all sorts, world wide. That holds true for Canada’s newest emerging sector — the cannabis business, but a local collective is forging ahead.
Since it was legalized, 23 months ago, the industry has seen enormous promotion and growth predictions, sky rocketing share prices, a levelling out marked by a wave of class action law suits and collapsed IPOs, then, a global pandemic.
A local pair of businessmen, backed by a small group of investors, has forged through it all with plans to build what they are calling an ethical, pioneering, community-focused cultivation facility, on Government Road.
The excavators are in fact there now, starting to build. It’s an exciting time for the Nelson Cannabis Collective. Co-owner Phil Pinfold joined Kootenay Morning on Sep. 16 to fill KCR in on some of the details.
