Well this winter is sure to look different in the West Kootenay.
David Lussier of Summit Mountain Guides stopped by Kootenay Morning on Sep. 28 to chat a bit about what folks can expect to see in the backcountry this winter. Lussier said he operated at 50 per cent capacity this summer.
“We’ve had to cancel three different hut trips this winter,” said Lussier.
Lussier said he still has two planned with Canadian guests and commented that a number of operators have decided to pull the plug on the season. About 50 per cent of Lussier’s guests are generally American.
