Winter Stars Social @ The Nelson Public Library

Nelson Library to host a seasonal crafting night using discarded books
Looking for a fun way to spend a winter evening with friends—or meet new ones? Join the Nelson Public
Library for Winter Stars Social, a free event for teens and adults on Friday, December 19 from
6:30–8:30pm.
Local artists Rayya Liebich and Nathan Smith will guide the hands-on activity, showing how simple
techniques can turn old pages into stunning designs. No experience needed—just curiosity and a
willingness to have fun.
The holiday season can bring joy but also isolation, especially during long winter nights. The Winter Stars
Social offers a warm, welcoming space away from the cold. Guests can meet new friends, reconnect
with familiar faces, and take part in a hands-on activity that celebrates both the season and the spirit of
community.
This event is part of the Nelson Library’s Digital Detox Series, encouraging people to step away from
screens and rediscover the joy of in-person connection and mindful creativity.
