KCR LIVE! with Melody Diachun Trio.

KCR LIVE! is is an hour-long show that hosts live music and interviews in the studio. The aim is to provide an intimate and authentic experience to showcase the artist’s style and personality. Listeners will have the feeling of having the artist sitting in their living room!

Melody Diachun, David Restivo-piano, Doug Stephenson-acoustic bass performed music from Melody’s debut album “Lullaby of the Leaves”, now in it’s 20th anniversary year, as well as a preview of songs they will be recording with Michael Occhipinti and Tony Ferraro on their upcoming 2022 album.

About Melody Diachun:

JUNO nominee Melody Diachun is a talented vocalist, songwriter, and a warm performer praised for her “soulful confidence, exquisite intonation, phrasing, and sense of time.” – All About Jazz

Currently in preproduction for her fifth album, Melody is rehearsing with her musicians to fine-tune interpretations of one of the world’s greatest living songwriters. Look for the new album in 2022.

Her 2018 release “Get Back to the Groove” charted on the !Earshot Top 20 National Jazz Charts and peaked at #9. Notable recordings also include “EQ” and “Metaphora” by Altered Laws that was nominated for a JUNO for ‘Contemporary Jazz Album of the Year’ in 2008 and won ‘Outstanding Jazz Album’ at the 2008 Western Canadian Music Awards.

A member of the music faculty at Selkirk College in Nelson, BC since 2012, Melody teaches singing, songwriting, stage performance techniques, business of music, and ensembles.

Melody was nominated for ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ at the 2009 Canadian National Jazz Awards, and for ‘Artist of the Year’, ‘Best Blues Song’, ‘Best Pop Song’ and ‘Best R&B Song’ at the Kootenay Music Awards.
