Mark Fawcett played a key role in raising the profile of snowboarding, elevating it from relative obscurity to Olympic status. He started riding in 1985, going on to achieve thirty-eight World Cup podium performances, including fourteen gold medals, over the next seventeen years. He also made Olympic appearances in Nagano, Japan, and Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the Canadian team’s head coach for over a decade. He is now coaching Canada’s para-snowboard team and joins us today fresh from the Milano-Cortina Paralympic Games.
