The Nelson Police Department is alerting the public to the presence of Outlaw Motorcycle Gang members in Nelson this weekend. More than 50 members are expected in and around the city Friday through Sunday. The Nelson Police have been coordinating with intelligence agencies and other BC police forces. Police say extra resources will be in place over the weekend to keep order and safety.
The police advise that gang members are expected to be highly visible in the community, surrounding areas, and on area highways. They are asking members of the community to report suspicious or criminal activity.
The Nelson Police Department was not able to offer further comment on this ongoing operation. Inspector Jason Jewkes says the department will release further media information as needed.
