The manslaughter case that took centre stage at Nelson’s Capitol Theatre has come to the end of its run.
RCMP Constable Jason Tait was up on charges from the 2015 death of Waylon Edey. Edey had been driving drunk when Tait attempted to pull him over. When Edey refused, Tait blocked the road with his police vehicle. The series of events that followed ended with the shooting death of Edey.
The Nelson Star’s reporter Bill Metcalfe followed the case and reported on the trail from Capitol Theatre. He joined Kootenay Morning on Nov. 9, after the verdict was reached, to talk about the trail.
