Spring, that happiest, most hopeful of seasons is upon us.

This week the UN marked the International Day of Happiness, which set the stage for the release of this year’s .

The World Happiness Report is a partnership of Gallup, the Oxford Wellbeing Research Centre, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, and the WHR’s Editorial Board. It’s become an annual marker, letting us know who’s happy and who’s sad around the world.

In 2012, the first year of the Report, Canada ranked fourth. 12 years later, we’ve sunk to 15th — with Canadians under the age of 30 ranking a dismal 58th.
