Wade Porter
April 10, 1964 – July 14, 2018
Wade was born in London, Ont. He graduated from Fanshawe College in broadcasting and later became a local radio show host. He was charismatic, fun loving, a great storyteller, and generously shared his wealth of knowledge with everyone.
He moved to Nelson, BC in 1995 and worked at the Express, and later the Nelson Daily News. He was known in town as the “ad man”. His radio experience helped start Kootenay Co-op Radio.
When the Kootenay Co-op Radio incorporated in June 1998 the founding members were Zoe Creighton, Sharon Butler, Guy Lapointe, Wade Porter, Jocelyn Carver, David MacKinnon, and Anne Degrace.
