KCR’s staff is small but MIGHTY. Our team of four part-time staff wear many hats. They handle our finances, work with our sponsors, interview the community, and keep our programming flowing and our gear running. Hat’s off to their colossal efforts to keep our volunteer-driven and listener-supported radio on the air.

Kootenay Coop Radio Staff:

Rob Andrew, Operations Manager
Rob comes to KCR after serving as manager of the Nelson SPCA. Rob brings considerable non-profit experience ranging from volunteer and resource management, to fundraising, and technical know-how. kcrprogrammingmanager(at)gmail(dot)com

Paula Shandro, Administrative Manager
Paula recently moved to Nelson from New Denver where she served in various roles with a number of nonprofits. We know her experience working with organizations similar to our own, her grant-writing abilities, and organizational acumen, will serve us well. admin(at)kootenaycoopradio(dot)com

Anthony Sanna, News Director & Spoken Word Coordinator
Anthony began hosting our flagship news program Kootenay Morning in 2013. He’s been active volunteer with the programming commitee and led the New Season programmer intake since 2015. He has now focused his extensive KCR programming experience as the News Director & Spoken Word Coordinator. If you’re interested in hosting a spoken word program at the station, Anthony’s your guy. kootenaymorning(at)gmail(dot)com

Nicole Purvis, Community Outreach Coordinator
Many of you may already know Nicole from such shows as Kootenay Voices, Hootenholler, and Kootenay Morning. Nicole has been volunteering with KCR for over a decade, so her experience with the station is considerable. Nicole will be helping to recruit hosts and segment producers to help us roll out a new and improved Kootenay Morning, as well as fill other volunteer positions. nicoleannepurvis(at)gmail(dot)com

Stephanie Myers, Sponsorship Coordinator
If you’ve participated in one of our fundraisers or advertised on Kootenay Co-op Radio, chances are you know Stephanie. She takes care of keeping the station in much needed funds so that we continue to provide quality programming to the communities we serve. If you are interested in advertising with the station, drop Stephanie a line: stephaniemyersfundraising(at)gmail(dot)com.

Taylor Chancellor, Kootenay Music Awards Coordinator
Taylor has taken on the role of coordinating the oh-so-exciting (!!) Kootenay Music Awards, to be held Saturday, March 23rd at The Spirit Bar. Encourage your musical friends to submit entries in 10 categories. Taylor is half of the DJ duo dose, heard Tuesdays at 4 pm on KCR.

** We’d be remiss if we didn’t say a huge THANK YOU to Prudence-Elise Breton for her work at KCR over the last three years. She’s done an amazing job as Administrative Manager and we’re wishing her the best with her latest project! **
