2025 Kootenay Herb Conference
Join us for the 5th Kootenay Herb Gathering, a joyful weekend celebration of plants, people, and place! Set in the heart of the lush Slocan Valley, this three-day event brings together herbalists, homesteaders, and plant lovers from across the region to learn, share, and connect.
Enjoy a vibrant lineup of herbal workshops, plant walks, and experiential learning led by inspiring teachers. Evenings feature live entertainment, a herbal elixir bar, and farm-fresh meals that nourish both body and spirit.
This family-friendly gathering includes a Kids Herb Club for children ages 4–12, making it easy to come together across generations. All experience levels are welcome—from curious beginners to seasoned practitioners.
The Kootenay Herb Gathering is a not-for-profit event supporting local environmental organizations and herbalist associations across Canada.

It's summertime — and the living is... easy?!
Well, to be more specific, it's time to celebrate Summer Solstice and Midsummer (or Midsommar, as they say in Sweden).
And that's just what we do on today's Radio Free Kaslo. We check out how folks whoop it up on the longest day (and shortest night) of the year in Bulgaria, Quebec, England, and Sweden (of course — no one does it better than the Swedes).
