The Nelson International Mural Fest is back!

The action kicks off August 14 and runs until the 16th.

It will look a little different this year, but expect to see some great art around town.

On August 14 the Executive Director of the Nelson and District Arts Council Sydney Black called in to Kootenay Morning to talk a little bit about the trials and tribulations of making it all work in the midst of a global pandemic.

“We had to pivot from what we would normally do, which is an in person community gathering,” Black told KCR News.

“As soon as the pandemic hit our priority became ensuring that artists who rely on the gig economy had a gig that they could rely on and be paid for this summer.”
