With a heck of snowfall, some on-going good fortune on the COVID prevention front — compared to many other resorts around the world — and a big announcement from the provincial government and Regional District of the Central Kootenay, it’s been a banner couple days for Whitewater Resort.
The Regional District of Central Kootenay has received a funding grant under the B.C. Government’s Community Economic Recovery Infrastructure Program (CERIP) destination development stream worth — wait for it — one million dollars.
The money will go towards first-ever summer operations at the 30 year old resort, and the development of backcountry opportunities in mountain biking, hiking and climbing.
