The West Kootenay’s central city is heading back to the polls April 24, Saturday in a hotly contested by-election race for mayor and a city councillor seat.
There are no fewer than nine candidates in the mix — five heavyweights for mayor, and four impressive newcomers for councillor. The by-election came about after the controversial COVID-driven resignation of former mayor Bruno Tassone.
Betsy Kline, reporter with what Castlegar News and a regular guest on Kootenay Morning, joined the show to take a closer look at the field and place some odds.
