Bookmarks author series presents Melanie Schnell

Join Regina author Melanie Schnell in launching her new mystery, The Chorus Beneath Our Feet, which presents a Canadian Forces soldier back from Afghanistan who finds his mute sister has not only become a street person and disappeared, but is threatened with death by others of the homeless for reasons he must discover. The book is currently shortlisted for four Saskatchewan Book Awards, including the Fiction Award and Book of the Year. Melanie’s television scripts have been aired on SCN and CBC. She teaches creative writing at the University of Regina. She’s joined by local novelists Deryn Collier (Open Secret and Confined Spaces), and Anne DeGrace, (Treading Water, Flying with Amelia). A reading will be followed by a panel discussion attempting to solve the mystery of why mystery novels are so popular—even though the reader knows from the start that the crime will be solved!
