Elephant Mountain Literary Festival CRAFT TALK: Bringing Characters to Life

June 23, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

2022 Elephant Mountain Literary Festival and the Nelson Public Library present a talk on the writing craft. People are at the heart of fiction and memoir: confusing, edgy, graceful; full of needs, urges and inner complexity. Shaena will discuss the ways that characters can be brought to life on the page, from gesture, impression, and the importance of faces to habits, body types, and the key role of clothing, historical and modern. Bring pen and paper. Lambert’s most recent novel Petra was the winner of the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize. More info at emlfestival.com
