Community Wildfire Awareness Day – July 9 at Lakeside Park! 
Join us for a fun, family-friendly afternoon of learning about wildfire preparedness at the Rotary BBQ Shelter in Lakeside Park on Thursday, July 9, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Family friendly event: activities, facepainter, music, and more!Meet local wildfire experts from the City of Nelson, the Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK), BC Wildfire Services, the Ministry of Forests, and other responding agencies. Learn about the programs and projects helping make our communities more resilient to wildfire.
Complete a Wildfire Awareness Bingo Card by visiting the participating information booths and chatting with local organizations. Once you’ve completed your bingo card, you can redeem it for a FREE BBQ meal!
This is a great opportunity to:
• Learn simple FireSmart tips to help protect your home and neighbourhood.
• Meet the organizations working on wildfire risk reduction in our region.
• Ask questions and explore local wildfire preparedness programs.
