Go By Bike and Win Prizes

Pump up your tires and ride! Go by Bike week is October 3rd to 16th. But, we’re running this initiative all month long in Nelson and area.
The West Kootenay Cycling Coalition is offering free safety flags to all its members. Sign up to become a member (it’s free this year) by visiting our webpage at https://westkootenaycycling.ca/.
Then ride your bike to collect merit badges such as “I rode my bike to work” or “I rode my bike to school” or “I rode my bike in the dark”. Proudly display them all on your flags.
Cyclists can pick up their “bike flags” for free from Nelson’s Visitor Centre starting at noon on October 4th. (Parents are encouraged to pick up flags for their kids too). A list of locations to ride your bicycle and places to collect badges will be provided at the Visitor Centre and posted online throughout the month of October.
Once you have collected 8 badges you may enter to win prizes such as theatre tickets to Capitol Theatre shows or gift certificates to Kootenay Coop and more! Draw prize winners will be announced on October 31st.
