Kootenay Co-op Classes: Wild Herb walk

Join local herbalist Patrick Kooyman on this herb walk, where we’ll discover and learn about locally growing plants and their uses as food and medicine. Hone your observation skills by learning about the environment in which these plants grow, and practical botanical tips to help identify them.
We will discuss ethical and appropriate harvesting practices, gain an appreciation for the relationship of plants within the larger forest ecosystem community, and how this can inform us on their medicinal actions in our bodies. The goal of this class is to deepen our understanding of wild plants, and how to safely and respectfully integrate them into our lives.
