Don’t miss a very special two-night engagement with JUNO-nominated artists Michael Occhipinti and Elizabeth Shepherd at The Langham! This dynamic duo, known as ES:MO, brings together two of Canada’s most inventive and celebrated musicians for an evening of captivating jazz, soulful songs, and masterful improvisation. Having collaborated on each other’s projects for over a decade, their musical chemistry is nothing short of telepathic, creating a sound that is both atmospheric and deeply groovy.
Michael Occhipinti, a versatile and creative guitarist and composer, has a long history of collaborating with jazz legends and artists across many genres, from Bruce Cockburn to the Barenaked Ladies. Elizabeth Shepherd, a three-time JUNO-nominated vocalist, pianist, and songwriter, has captivated audiences on international stages from the Hollywood Bowl to London’s Jazz Café. Together, as ES:MO, they reimagine their collective influences and craft original music that defies easy categorization.
Their JUNO-nominated debut album, The Weight of Hope, showcases their unique approach to everything from Bruce Cockburn to Nina Simone, adding otherworldly layers and subtle electronics to their sound. More than just a concert, this is an opportunity to witness a true partnership in music, built on years of touring and a shared love for exploring new sonic landscapes.
