Nelson Poetry Slam and Open Mic

What is a poetry slam?
A competition of original poetry. Judged on content, originality and performance by selected audience members.
Poets prepare 2 poems, up to 3 minutes each.
There are 2 rounds, concluding with a first, second and third-place winner.
We give cash prizes!
The open mic portion gives performers 5 mins of any type of expression and it doesn’t have to be original content. Open mic is not judged.
We have zero tolerance for hate, abuse and disrespect.

For open mic one up to 5 min.
The show starts at 6:30 pm. Come at 6 if you want a spot.
