NELSON PRIDE PARADE
Meet at Wildflower School at 2pm
March begins at 3pm SHARP

🌈🏳️‍⚧️ are you coming out to celebrate 30 years of PRIDE parades in nelson?!

on Saturday, September 5th, come march with us at the Wildflower School (or join us at IODE Park for a shorter, flatter route just down Baker!)

set up happens at 2 pm, with the parade kicking off at 3 pm. The route is the same as last year — see the map attached to this event.

Free and open to everyone, all ages. No registration needed if you’re coming as an individual or with friends; just show up.

if you’re wanting to join us as an organized group, business, car/trailer/float, or otherwise have any needs or requests for us, make sure to sign up ahead of time at nelsonpride.ca/floats

there’s no cost to register your group, it just gives us a chance to sort out our marching order, get an idea of numbers and needs, and makes sure we can get out all the information needed to everyone.

We’re also looking for volunteers to help make the parade happen! If you’re not looking to march but would love the best views, we’d love your help on intersections. No experience needed and it’s family friendly. Email info@nelsonpride.ca to sign up.

Accessibility Notes: The entire parade route is paved, however it does slope downhill initially. The weather is usually hot at this time of year and full sunlight is likely, so please dress for the weather, bring water, and wear sunscreen!

Smoke note: Wildfire smoke is common in the summer. Please check the air quality (weather.gc.ca/airquality) and consider wearing a mask. Masks are welcome at all of our events for any reason.

We encourage you to consider alternative means of transit, including buses, carpooling, walking, or biking, if possible. Please try to leave parking close to the event open for those with accessibility needs, and please use this parking if you need.
